About Us
CLIC Sargent (Jersey) is an independent, local charity formed to ensure that every child and young person with cancer and their family receive the support they need. We offer financial and emotional support to anyone living on the Island who is diagnosed before their 25th birthday. We work alongside the multi-disciplinary team at the hospital and with other agencies to achieve this. We respond to the needs of the sick child and their family at a difficult and stressful time.
Formed in Jersey in 1974 as the Malcolm Sargent Fund, when the parent charity merged with CLIC (Cancer & Leukaemia in Childhood) in 2005, we became CLIC Sargent (Jersey).
CLIC Sargent (Jersey) although an independent local charity we maintain links to CLIC Sargent (Britain’s leading children’s cancer charity – Young Lives V’s Cancer) we retain all of the money that is raised in the island so that it can be spent solely on Jersey children and their families. We receive no public funding and rely solely on donations and fundraising to allow us to help children and young people with cancer and leukaemia. We have no buildings nor do we employ any staff and all our committee members are volunteers so our annual overheads are minimal.
CLIC Sargent Cancer Care for Children (Jersey) is registered with the Royal Court of Jersey.
